This fairly small glass of wine left me smashed! I am such a total lightweight :-)
When I got up this morning I had a mug of warm water with the juice of half a lemon to help fix my mini hangover. Breakfast was a lovely bowl of blackberries with natural yoghurt and four tablespoons of Fantastically Fruity, Roasted and Toasted Dorset Cereals muesli.
I love all the pretty colours in the muesli! I also had a mug of Tea Pigs Mao Feng green tea with a slice of lemon.
Me and the hubby had a lovely lazy morning before getting ready and heading into Town. Before we left I snacked on an apple.
The weather was lovely when we got to town - sunny and warm. We picked up some coffees and had a walk down to the Quayside.
I had a skinny caramel latte, my favourite! This is outside the Theatre Royal in Newcastle.
The quayside market was really busy. There was about three stalls selling cupcakes, they looked really delicious and I would have bought one if I thought I could have managed to get it home in one piece! While we were down there the weather started to turn cloudy and then the heavens opened! We took shelter in a local pub. I had a soda water and lemon and the hubby had a beer.
We waited until there was a bit of a break in the rain and then walked to an Italian resturant we had spotted and decided to try out for lunch. I had the Penne Arabiatta with roasted peppers, chilli, garlic and olives. It was delicious!
It was still chucking it down so we decided to just head on home, it was a good job as I just crashed! I felt so tired, I think the white pasta had given me an energy high followed by a low. It was only two hours after eating and I was already ravenous! Another reminder why I only eat pasta now and again. I made myself a green monster to try and keep me going. I used loads of spinach, a frozen banana, hazelnut and almond rice milk, teaspoon of maca and a teaspoon of ground flax. I decided to have it in a bowl topped with a few crunchy grape nuts so that it would take a little longer to eat as I can down smoothies in one when they come in a glass!
I didn't want to over do it at dinner so I topped a four savory rice cakes with some hummus and the last of my left over roasted veggies. I also had some carrot and cucumber on the side.
These rice cakes were wonderful! I'm offically addicted to the hummus / roast veggies combo.
For desert I had a full pot of cottage cheese with a pack of lemon flavoured nakd raisins mixed in.
I love these lemon raisins, just so lovely and sweet!
Drinks - water, green tea, decaf tea, glass of red wine later before bed
Exercise - rest day although I think I might work through a few yoga poses later to stretch my running worn knees and hips.
Heres a few pics of the stuff I bought yesterday. I've mainly been buying things for my holidays (and hopefully a hot British summer!) as none of my old holiday clothes fit anymore. I got these few bits and pieces from Primark - I love a good bargin! I saw this beautiful patterned cover up, its got sequin detail along the bottom hem as well. I think this is pretty enough to wear with jeans and heels!
I also got a bag and shoes to go with this maxi dress I bought from Dorothy Perkins a couple of months ago.
I love these gladiator sandals, they will be so comfortable! I got this patterned bag, purple bikini, purple strapless cover up and peacock patterned silk scarf.
The bikini is a 'cleavage boost' one and my goodness it really does work! I couldn't resist getting this little cotton dress as well.
I think I'll layer it up with a simple t shirt like this.
I like mixing 'prettier' things with something a bit more casual like a pair of converse trainers, big lace up boots or a hooded top. Last but not least, I got this beautiful embroidered and beaded top from Warehouse.
This top and the maxi dress are going to be my main 'dressy' outfits for my hols. With most of this stuff being from Primark I haven't actually spent that much, however after this holiday I'm going to have to work out some serious cutting back measures, although due to more holidays planned in July and August its probably going to be September before I can do anything drastic. At the least I need to start sticking to my budget!
Heres a quick couple of pics of the posters I ordered from Not on the High Street last week.
I just love them! I've popped them in some cheap frames for now until I can get some decent ones sorted. I've hung the 'love' print in our bedroom and the 'keep calm' print in the hallway. I got loads of ideas looking at the prints and canvases for sale on the site but I'm going to try and save some money by painting my own canvas for my kitchen.
Well there's another weekend over! I have quite an exciting week ahead, on Tuesday we are off to Birmingham with my Mam and Dad to see Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood! My Dad is a huge Clapton fan and I bought him tickets for his 50th in January. I was pretty much raised on Eric Clapton's music so I'm really looking forward to the concert as well (plus more shopping in Birmingham!)
How has your weekend been? Hope that you have all had a good one! x
